Lucky Hank has been canceled by AMC after just one season. I watched this show because I’m a huge fan of Bob Odenkirk and the rest of the cast was stacked with great talent but I think the show suffered in the writing.
Over the course of the season, it never really found its pacing or voice. Hank would randomly appear in voiceover but not frequently enough to be a part of the show’s style so it often felt like an afterthought and there were great stretches where nothing seemed to happen. Not that that’s a bad thing but that nothingness wasn’t always replaced with compelling character development.
I really wanted to like this show a lot more than I did and I was willing to give a second season a chance but now I guess I don’t have to.
