I had a dream last night where I came to the realization that more and more movies were being set in the 70s, 80s, and 90s to avoid modern technology. Like, horror movies being set in the 80s so audiences can’t say, “why didn’t he just call the cops” or “why don’t they take a picture on their phone.”
There have been a lot of shows and movies set in the recent past lately but I wonder if my dream will actually play out in real life because the phone I’m typing this on does remove a lot of the disbelief suspension needed for many thrillers and horror movies.
